Multiplexing is the process of encoding and transmitting multiple signals in a single stream. Musicians have used this technique for centuries. Drum music from all over the world relies heavily on our ability to segregate multiple streams from a single sequence of sounds. The Mvltiplexors comprise a series of pieces for monophonic instruments that explore this process and our perception of it. SOLUM, for goblet drum, is the first of the series.
