Tepozchiquilichtli (Nahuatl to Spanish transliteration) translates to Metallic cicada. Tepozchiquilichtli is a long term ongoing project. It is a growing set of pieces for impulse generators (1-bit instruments) currently implemented with dot matrix printer heads.

The first piece of the set, Tepozchiquilichtli I, was originally conceived as the second of the Mvltiplexor series, but after it's completion it became clear to me that a 1-bit instrument (the most limited musical instrument) deserved more of my attention. Thus, it was with the need to further explore the boundaries of this instrument and under the influence of Nancarrow's work that I decided to expand this piece into a much larger project: the Tepozchiquilichtli studies for impulse generator.
